Worries already emerging about Norwich City summer transfer, club want sale

Brought in by Liverpool in urgent fashion due to the injuries to Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez, Ozan Kabak had a bit of a rollercoaster of a spell at Anfield.

The Reds ultimately decided against buying the Turkish defender, which led to him returning to Schalke 04, who were relegated to 2.Bundesliga.

Needing to offload some of their better players to alleviate the wage bill, the German side sent Kabak to Norwich City, who have a compulsory option to buy him if certain conditions are met, meaning, in all likelihood, if they avoid relegation.

Well, considering their start to the season, there are already a few worries creeping up back near Gelsenkirchen, as Ruhr Nachrichten look at Schalke’s loanees and their respective situations.

When touching on Kabak’s, they explain he ‘finally made his debut’, but it came in a 3-1 loss to Watford, as Norwich City ‘remain pointless and without a win’.

They immediately point out ‘that’s not good news’ for Schalke, because ‘if Norwich get relegated, the club will not be able to sign’ the defender ‘for financial reasons’, and there is also ‘no fixed purchase obligation’, meaning he would ‘return to Schalke in the summer’.

That’s something the club don’t want, desperately needing the money, as they try to return to the Bundesliga at the first attempt, although that isn’t going all that well, with the club currently 11th after seven games.
