Simone Inzaghi Deserves Criticism For Inter Substitutions Against Real Madrid, Italian Media Report

Simone Inzaghi has come under fire for the substitutions he made in the second half of Inter’s Champions League defeat to Inter, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the rhythm of Inter’s play was badly disrupted by the substitutions that the coach made in the second half and it could cost them dearly in the future.

Inter played very well for large spells of their opening Champions League group game against Real Madrid on Wednesday night, but they conceded an 89th-minute goal from Brazilian youngster Rodrygo.

The substitutions in particular that are being criticised by many are the removals of Ivan Perisic and Lautaro Martinez, which took the sting out of Inter’s attack.

Arturo Vidal and Federico Dimarco were introduced but failed to have any impact, and it meant older players like Edin Dzeko and Marcelo Brozovic had more running to do.
