Liverpool ‘strongly’ linked with Federico Chiesa with £34m deal already agreed

Liverpool bolstered their backline during the summer transfer window with a move for Ibrahima Konate – signing the Frenchman from RB Leipzig in a £36million deal.

However, while some supporters urged the club to do more business, that remained the only transfer the Reds made when the window closed at the end of last month.

Though no more moves can be completed until January now, the transfer news keeps coming, and with that in mind, here is a round-up of the latest Liverpool rumours and gossip from around the globe.

Juventus and Italy star Federico Chiesa.

Chelsea are reportedly considering a second move for the Juventus star as they look to bolster their attacking options in 2022.

It has been claimed that the Blues made a sensational £85million offer for the Italy international during the summer transfer window, but that was rejected by the Serie A club.

But now according to Calcio Mercato, Chelsea will try their luck to sign Chiesa and are expected to approach the European giants in the next few months.

And it is also claimed that Liverpool have shown strong interest in the forward.

He moved to Turin in September 2020 on a two-year loan deal from Fiorentina, but Juventus do have an obligation to buy for £34.3million at the end of the season.

Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Liverpool have reportedly reached an ‘agreement’ to sign the Brighton midfielder in the January transfer window.

Reports during the summer transfer window claimed the Reds have approached the Seagulls over a possible move for the Mali international.

However, as reported by the ECHO at the time, Bissouma wasn’t among those the Reds regarded a possibility at that moment in time.

But now according to Fichajes, the Reds have reached an ‘agreement’ for the 25-year-old, who will cost in the region of £30million if they successfully complete the deal.

Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.

German publication Sport 1 via the Mirror.

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has dismissed recent claims his side’s ‘ financial situation might force them to cash in on Erling Haaland next summer.

The 21-year-old forward is one of European football’s hottest properties having averaged around a goal a game for the past two seasons.

That impressive form has resulted in the forward being linked with a host of top clubs around Europe, including Liverpool.

But Watzke said on the current rumours: “It has not yet been decided whether it will really leave in the summer.

“We’ll just have a look. I heard someone say: ‘They have to sell Haaland because they are listed on the stock exchange.’ This is all bulls***.

“The decision whether someone is sold at our company is made by the management and only by the management.”
