Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri will be suspended for the next two Serie A matches following his red card against AC Milan.
As announced in an official FIGC statement last night, the 62-year-old Italian coach will be forced to miss the upcoming two matches against Cagliari and Torino due to the suspension, which will force him to watch the games from the stands.
Sarri’s assistant coach Giovanni Martusciello will take his place on the bench, leading the squad in the next two matches.
Sarri was given the red card following the final whistle in Lazio’s 2-0 loss to AC Milan on Sunday evening. He aggressively approached Rossoneri winger Alexis Saelemaekers to confront him following his celebrations.
The first game ban is due to Sarri’s intimidating attitude and his threatening language. The second game’s ban comes as a result of uttering blasphemous expressions whilst walking down the tunnel leading to the dressing room.
