Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother has claimed that the Manchester United superstar’s son, Cristiano Jr, is a better football player than he was at the same age. Ronaldo has enjoyed a stunning start to life back at Old Trafford since returning to the club from Juventus on the final day of the summer transfer window.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has already scored four goals from just three appearances after rejoining the Red Devils in a sensational twist to the tale.
He initially looked set to sign for Manchester City before the defending Premier League champions dropped their interest in a move, allowing United to swoop.
Ronaldo’s move back to United also saw Cristiano Jr follow him from Juventus to the Premier League club’s academy setup.
The 11-year-old previously turned out for Real Madrid’s youth teams during his father’s time as the Spanish club’s star man and has been tipped to enjoy a successful career in the game upon reaching adulthood.
“Now he’s starting out at Manchester [United]. Seeing the two of them together at Sporting was my dream, it would be spectacular.
“Today the No 7 jersey [at Sporting] is [Brazilian attacking midfielder] Tabata, but when Ronaldo comes it will be his!”
Ronaldo has already underlined his desire to see Cristiano Jr follow in his footsteps as a professional footballer upon progressing through the youth ranks at United.
However, the Portuguese forward’s close friend and former UFC champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, revealed earlier this year that Ronaldo is concerned over his son’s ability to hit the same heights as himself.
