Ray Parlour believes Brighton’s Yves Bissouma has ‘got everything’ in his locker to be a ‘top star’ and would ‘love’ to see the midfielder join Arsenal.
Bissouma, 25, has established himself as one of the most sought-after midfielders in Premier League football since joining Brighton in 2018 and was hotly tipped to complete a big-money move away from the Amex in the summer.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal were all credited with an interest across the transfer window but Bissouma stayed put on the south coast and has had a barnstorming start to the new season, with the Seagulls flying high in fourth place.
And while Parlour feels Bissouma could add more goals to his game, he’s adamant the Gunners would be landing a supreme talent should they agree a deal for the £50million-rated Mali international.
‘I’ve said for a long time that Bissouma is a top-class player,’ he said on talkSPORT.
‘I would love to see him at Arsenal, I said that in the transfer window: the one player I would like to see is Bissouma.
‘I think he’s got everything. He’s efficient on the ball, he can put his foot in as well, he can pass.
The former Arsenal and England midfielder added: ‘I’m sure Brighton had to sell one of their players and it was Ben White in the end for £50m. But I think he’s going to be a top star, Bissouma.
Bissouma has made no secret of his desire to play Champions League football in the future but felt it was not the right time for him to leave Brighton in the summer.
‘I didn’t go this summer, maybe its because it’s not my time to go,’ he told Brighton’s official website.
‘When my time will come, it’s my time, but I’m happy in Brighton, I’m enjoying playing football.
