Napoli midfielder André Zambo Anguissa said Jamie Vardy is Leicester City’s most dangerous weapon but stressed the Partenopei must be focused on the whole team. ‘A very difficult game awaits us’.
The Partenopei prepare to face Leicester at the King Power Stadium tonight and the 25-year-old midfielder is prepared for a return to England.
Anguissa arrived from Fulham this summer and made his Serie A debut in the 2-1 win over Juventus last weekend.
Tonight, he could be in the line-up against Leicester in the Europa League and warned his teammates that Brendan Rodgers’ team are more than just Vardy.
“It will take great intensity to face Leicester,” Anguissa said at a press conference. “I immediately felt comfortable in Naples, I’m happy to be in this team.
“A very difficult game awaits us, because English football has great rhythm and a lot of speed.”
“Leicester are a complete team with many quality men. Vardy is a top-level striker, but for me, the whole team is dangerous. We have to think about facing everyone, because we must be careful until the last minute.”
Anguissa played in both of Fulham’s games against Leicester in the Premier League last term and helped the Cottagers pick up a win at the King Power Stadium.
He played the full 90 minutes at the Stadio Diego Maradona last weekend and should continue in the middle as Diego Demme and Stanislav Lobotka are still out.
He was asked about the differences between Italian and English football.
“The difference between Italian and English football is in the tactics. In Serie A, there’s much more attention to tactics,” he said. “In England, however, there’s greater intensity.
“Tomorrow we will have to be able to keep their pace, because it will be a fast and hard match.”
